And when you called out to me,I was walking my path with love and peace.And you called out to me,I heard your deep cry.And I turned around,For I felt it deep within me.And as I looked for you everywhere,I saw you nowhere.And when I finally came across you,My soul was telling me, ‘you are there.’And I understood not what it said,Just that I remember you.And you looked at me in surprise,And I understood not why I was there.And then the love started pouring from within,The love which was hidden forever.For I had ‘seeked’ you far and wide.And found you nowhere.And then when I looked at you,My heart said, ‘Yes,’My soul said, ‘Yes,’And yet my steps did not take me there.I was tied with invisible chains,And you did not recognise me anywhere.I stood there looking at you,And I stood there forever.And you unaware of me,and what I knew,passing glances now and then.You said something else,Your eyes betrayed you.And here I was waiting for you,And you never turned.I stood there for eternity,waiting for you to turn.In pain waiting for you,I choose to love myself.And when I finally turned around,My heart would cry in pain,And I whispered to myself,‘Worry not, he will also be there.’And saying this to myself,I started to walk my path.And many a times,I looked behind, andThere you were shaking hands.Hugging the many who you knew,Dancing to the sound of music,that played for the body to sway,And when I saw you dance,I understood, andI walked away.For I was dancing to the tune of my soul,That which I could ‘only’ hear.And then I knew not what happened.I danced away.And many a times I looked around,I turned again and again,Only to hurt myself,And finally-I walked away.And I walked and I walked,only to turn again.Waiting to rest,was only a reason,I realised-I was waiting for you to come my way.And then I noticed again,you were distracted again and again.And here I was waiting for you again.Finally I heard my own deep cry,Which said, ‘Walk away,for till you stand there, my dear,you will only hurt again and again.’So I started to take the baby steps,Learning to love myself on the way.Understanding myself deeper and deeper,As hand in hand with my soul,I walked away.And then I know not what happened,you started to fade away.As I kept dancing to the tune of my soul,I could hear the whispers that it sang,And I learnt to sing the same melody,The core of which was deep within.
